Low creeping hairy perenial. Much branched from base. Branches rooting at the nodes to form large mats.
Flower: To 0.5 inch across. 5 wide-spreading salmon to purplish red petals wih darker lines at base. Opening only during sunlight.
Leaves: 1.5 by 2.5 in., alternate, long-stalked, blade shallowly cut or lobed, the margins variously toothed.
