Upright smooth annual or biennial 2-5ft. Stem solitary, open and loosely branched at upper portion. Flower: To 1/4 in long, 5 yellow petals, the banner petal partially folded forward. Flowers numerous and crowded on slender, spikelike raceme 2-6 in long arising from leaf axils. Leaves: Alternate, stalked, the blade divided into 3 narrow leaflets with each leaflet .5 to 1 in long, margins finely toothed. Have fragrance of vanilla when crushed or dried. Contains coumarins and are unsafe for internal usage. | |||||||||||||
