Erect perenial, 1-12 feet.
Flowers:White to greenish white, heads 1/4 to 1/2 inch, 3-4 rays flowers (never more than 7), less than 15 disk flowers; in large terminal clusters.
Leaves: Simple, alternate,blade broad, lanceolate to egg-shaped, 4-10 inches long; surfaces hairy; margines tothed or wavy.
In the first freeze, the sap ruptures stems and forms a delicate curtain of ice crystals. |
