True Sunflower
Upright to sprawling annual to 4 ft with blue-green foliage. Extensive branching.
Flower: Flowerhead to 2.5 inch, ray flowers 12-20 yellow, 3-toothed at tip. Disk flowers numerous, yellow. Heads solitary,terminal on long,slenderstalks.
Leaves: to 4 inch long, blade thick, prominently veined underneath. Basal portion with large, toothed appendages or lobes on each side. Margins coarsely toothed. Lower leaves mostly opposite. Upper leaves alternate. |
