3 petal; pond / marsh plant
Aquatic perennial from tuber bearing roots. Arrow-shaped parallel-veined leaves. Three petaled flower are in whorls of 3 along a leafless flower stem. 30 cm - 1.2 m.
Starch tuber can be eaten raw or stored for boiling or dried and pounded. Tubers also eaten by ducks - hence name "Duck Potato".
