Creeping, trailing or floating, much-branched perenial. Found along banks of streams and ponds.

Flower: to 1 5/8 in. across, 5 yellow petals, 10 stamens. Long stalked from upper leaf axils.

Leaves: To 3 1/8 in. long, narrowly tappered on both ends. Margins entired. Dark green, alternate, stalked.
