Grass-like plant.
Flower: Six small similarly shaped yellow tepals. Fflowers solitary or in small umbel-like cluster. Three stamens (lillies have 6) and inferior ovary.
Leaves: Blades equitant (2 ranked, folded around a stem like of legs of horse-rider) .
80 species in this genius - ID may be difficult as hydridization is not uncommon.
