Cuplike flower - thick spiny plant
Large oval to elliptical pads with usually 1-2 yellowish to red-brown spines per spine cluster. Sometimes nearly spineless. Spines flattened near base. Stems in massive, sprawling, right-angled chains.
Flower: Cuplike flower of translucent lemon yellow petals. Sometimes orangish or red. Ovary barrel or cone-shaped.
Highly variable species. |
